The scanner ate the pencil. Is there some kind of trick to prevent that? (Lemme guess, buying a good scanner or something of the sort).
It's a well-known fact (well-known in certain circles, as it were) that I happen to fangirl a man names Alcibiades. A nephew of Pericles and pupil of Socrates, he was a Greek general of some repute during the second half of the Peloponnesian War about 415 BC onward. He was also a turncoat of... about four times? Exceptionally beautiful and possessed of immense personal charm, he was considered by Oscar Wilde as "the first of the dandys". Seriously, how could I possibly not fall for him?
Anway, no depiction of him survives to this day. There is a marble head who looks... not like the common description, another head from a much later time of Roman origin and a Spartan mosaic that doesn't exactly outdo itself in regards to details.
Personally, I've decided he must have looked a lot like the Barbarini Faun (minus the horns and hooves. Probably.).
I could talk about that guy for ages and I've been known to do so.

I happened to type 'Alcibiades' in the dA search box on a whim and well... it's good to know I'm not alone! Alcibiades definitely has his charm. Your portrait does him justice. :D

Wow, so there are two of us, after all. I wasn't all certain about that one, really. :giggle:
Thanks for the comment!

He wasn't a turn coat, he just knew when his services were better used else wher ... like places that weren't trying to kill him. *Shifty-eyes*

Yes, well, strictly speaking, he was completely loyal all his life. The poor Athenians (Spartans, Persians, Thracians...) might disagree, though. *g*

:D True.
